Marvel at the Mystery

Marvel at the mystery of God coming to earth. Don't try to rationalize it. There are some things in life that don't need to be figured out, just mulled over in wonder and awe. Our God is the God of the seemingly impossible. He is bigger than us. He is beyond us. He is more than us - and His love is deeper than anything we can imagine or comprehend.

Old Things Made New - A Lesson in Renewal

Once upon a time there was an old, sad, dirty, stained, shower. I'm sure it didn't start out life in this manner, but little by little it came to this sad condition.

Even though it was still functional, it was also leaking and damaging those things that surrounded it. It still looked "OK" on the outside, but open the door and you could see the scum and scars.

What was the poor shower to do?  It couldn't clean itself.  It couldn't make itself new. All it could do was become dirtier and more stained.

But, redemption was near and the shower submitted to drilling, cutting away, grafting and adhesion. After all this --------------restoration.

Isaiah 1:18: “Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the LORD. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool." Amen and Amen

Beauty for Ashes

He gives beauty for ashes, Strength for fear . Gladness for mourning, Peace for despair .

When sorrow seems to surround you; When suffering hangs heavy oer your head. Know that tomorrow brings Wholeness and healing, God knows your need . Just believe what He said. He gives beauty for ashes, Strength for fear . Gladness for mourning, Peace for despair .

When what youve done keeps you from moving on, When fear wants to make itself at home in your heart. Know that forgiveness brings Wholeness and healing, God knows your need . Just believe what He said. He gives beauty for ashes, Strength for fear . Gladness for mourning, Peace for despair .

I once was lost but, God has found me. Though I was bound, I've been set free. I've been made righteous in His sight, A display of His splendor all can see. He gives beauty for ashes, Strength for fear . Gladness for mourning, Peace for despair.

Once upon a time, in a land far, far away...
there lived a little girl disliked by all her world.
When she was very young, the children would all run.

Who knew inside this little girl, so slight of frame and frail,
lived a spirit of lonesomeness, no human hand could quell.

She loved, she laughed, she danced, she cried
and all the while she grew.
The love that she was seeking...
 was somewhere... still and true.

Her love, she gave to others  and it was often spurned.
The time came in her life when there was only ONE.
HE took her burdens and her sin and hid them far way.
Into her heart HE came to live and dwell for all her days.

And all her scars are beauty marks, covered by HIS blood.
All the pain, HE took away and filled her with HIS love.
She knows that in the end the day will come
when she will hear HIM say,
"The time is now for you to come, my good and faithful one."

"to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair." Isaiah 61:3

And I WILL Praise God In the Midst

Over the course of the past few weeks, I have had ample opportunity to ask, "What to non-believers do when their world is shaken?"

I have a very good friend who was involved in a car wreck with her husband, son and future daughter-in-law. What should have been tragic is miraculous. While her husband incurred the most extensive injuries, they are all alive and well due to the incredible hand of the LORD. The LORD'S hand was upon them.

I have another friend who was shot when he interrupted a robbery on his property.  Not only will he survive, but he was able to describe the men, the car and give a partial license plate! The LORD'S hand was upon him.

There is another young woman fighting cancer again and where many would surrender to depression and defeat, she is praising and glorifying the LORD. The LORD'S hand IS upon her.You can follow her story here: http://www.pleasantliving.org/

ISAIAH 43: 1 - 3
But now, O Israel, the LORD who created you says: "Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by my name; you are mine. When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. For I AM the LORD, your GOD, the HOLY ONE of ISRAEL, your SAVIOR..."

We as believers should lean heavily upon our LORD and SAVIOR. HE alone is our ROCK, our FORTRESS, our STRONG DELIVERER. How awesome it has been the past few weeks to see God's hand at work in the lives of these 3 and many others that surround me.

Would you join with me and offer a prayer of thanksgiving to the LORD for these wonderful people: (Carolyn & Randy, David, and Lindsey)? They are God's light shining in a dark world and challenge me to shine brighter and be increasing thankful.
